SOS Children’s Village is sharing their promise of healing, hope, and home for foster children by celebrating National Foster Care Month this May.
Over the past sixteen years, SOS has helped raise more than 250 foster children in Broward County, helping them overcome past traumas, discover childhood and family, and build a better future. It is the support of generous friends and neighbors that help the Village create home and family for these boys and girls.
You can join the celebration and show your support for the SOS foster children at any one of these events in May:
- Friday, May 15th 6 – 8 pm: Helping Happy Hour for SOS at Whole Foods, Boca Raton Taste for a cause! We will be serving a few of our favorite things; wine, cheese, & chocolate! Guests may also bid on unique items in a mini silent auction, must be in attendance at 8 to win! $5 Minimum Donation at Customer Service.
- Saturday & Sunday, May 9 & 10 and May 16 & 17: SOS at the Galleria Mall. Stop by our booth at the Galleria Mall to find out more about SOS and see our display of childrens’ artwork for sale.
- Sunday, May 24th, 1pm: SOS at the Ballpark. Join SOS and the Marlins Community Foundation at the Marlins vs. Tampa Bay game for a special 50/50 raffle. Tickets will be on sale throughout the concourse before the game. Proceeds benefit the children of SOS and the Communty Foundation.
- Saturday, May 30th, 7:30 am: SOS Youth Football Clinic. Boys and girls, ages 7-18, can participate in a fun-filled clinic led by professional trainer Tony Sands. Kids will have the opportunity to improve their speed, agility, and coordination while moving through skills stations. Current and former NFL players start clinic with a brief motivational speech and remain on hand to assist the kids with skills and demonstrations. Kids who participate leave with a sense of perseverance, discipline, and determination necessary to achieve their maximum potential both on and off the field. Entry Fee is $10 per child.
