Day of Caring Comes To SOS Florida
SOS Florida is pleased to welcome the United Way of Broward County's 21st Annual Day of Caring to our campus on October 19, 2012. Each year, hundreds of volunteers lend their time, talents and energy to making a difference in our community. Our family is honored to have been chosen to host this year's event.
SOS Florida Welcomes New CEO
Coconut Creek, FL – The board of directors, staff and children of SOS Children’s Villages - Florida are pleased to welcome new Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Keith G. DuVernay to their family.
The Village has helped raise more than 350 foster children over the past two decades. Successfully navigating the challenges of maintaining aging homes as well as expanding the Village and services is of vital concern to ensure SOS Florida continues to meet the changing needs of foster children and alumni now and in the future.
SOS Graduation 2012
With less than 50% of foster children graduating high school and even fewer attending college, it is always with an amazing sense of accomplishment and pride that SOS honors our graduates each June.
Once again all four of the young adults aging out of the Village this year earned their high school diplomas, one of our alumni returned to the classroom to earn his GED and another alumnus received her Bachelor's Degree from the University of South Florida.
