Volunteerism is a great way to make a difference in the lives of our children and help us achieve our mission. Please contact our Director of Volunteers, Brenna Hovatter at bhovatter@sosflorida.com to get you started today.

In life many of us can reflect back to a time where someone impacted our life in a profound way. The guidance that a
young person receives from a mentor can have a lasting
affect on how they see themselves and the world.
Mentoring is a process where the elder passes on
experiences, lessons and information to the
younger. This relationship is special
and important, because it teaches
our youth how to build trust
and gives them a role
model to look up to.

INDEPENDENT LIVING
SKILLS CLASSES
Each of the children living at SOS receives formal and informal independent living skills training. In addition to following a curriculum of classes, we try and supplement that with
real-life experience from our volunteers. So if you
are a banker that could teach our teens about
budgeting, or a tailor that wants to teach
a sewing class, we can find the
right opportunity for you.
